On decay and loss

Alas, Geoff’s iPod has broken.  I hope this photo from Sunset Crater, Arizona, helps explain the depth of loss we feel as a family.  Sunset Crater was formed by a volcanic eruption in ~1100 AD and after the past 906 years has only recovered to the extent you see.  I can only hope that given 906 years, Geoff will overcome his pain (or at least save up for a new iPod, which by then will hold all the info in the Universe and be so small that you can carry it in a special cellular vesicle).
